The Games

They are 3 tables playing on the night. Across:

Dungeons & Dragons

A fantasy adventure roleplaying game.

Specifically, we are playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.
You might explore a crumbling tower. Negotiate with someone untrustworthy. Decide whether to open the door you probably shouldn’t.

It’s collaborative, lightly structured, and surprisingly funny.

There will be two tables, Lauren and Charles will be DMing.

Call of Cthulhu: Calderdale

A cosmic horror roleplaying game, set right here.

Hebden Bridge, spring 1929.
Young women keep disappearing around Easter. People have theories. Most of them are wrong. A few are worse.

You’re a small group of investigators coming to town to work out what’s going on. Follow the rumours of occult activity on the moors, read what you shouldn’t, knock on the wrong doors, and piece things together one clue at a time.

It’s mysterious, tense, and investigative.

Andrew will be DMing this table.

Dungeons & Dragons

A fantasy adventure roleplaying game.

Specifically, we are playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

It’s collaborative, lightly structured, and surprisingly funny.

Charlies is running this table.

Mothership

A sci-fi horror roleplaying game.

You’re a crew in space. Something is wrong. Supplies are low. Signals don’t make sense. And something is moving in the dark.

It’s tense, atmospheric, and sometimes throws a complete curveball. Think Alien, not Star Trek.

Lauren will be DMing this table.

Play a one-shot

That just means we start the adventure and finish it on the night. You get a whole story in one go, without needing to commit to a massive campaign.

Who it’s for

The table will be a real mix. You might be sitting next to a veteran who knows the rulebooks inside out, or someone who have never held a twenty-sided die in their life.

If you’ve always wanted to give D&D or Call of Cthulhu a go, you are very welcome.

How it works

A tabletop roleplaying game is a shared story.

You sit around a table. The DM, aka the person leading the story, describes the world. You describe what your character does. And dice decide what happens next.

There’s no board. No winning or losing.
Just a story you shape together.

We’ll guide you through it all.

Heads up: this isn't a drop-in night. We're running a set adventure with limited spaces, so you'll need to book a seat to play.

What you need

Just bring yourself. We have the dice, the sheets, and the pencils.

We’ll have characters ready for you to use, so you don’t need to do any homework. No need to read the rulebook or watch videos beforehand. We’ll just explain things as they happen and keep it moving.

On the night

We’ll do a quick intro, play for a couple of hours, then take a break. If you want to order dinner, T'Cure has excellent vegan, vegetarian, GF, and meat options. After that, we’ll crack on until about 10pm.

Just to be clear:

  • You don’t have to do "the voices", unless you want to.

  • You don’t have to act, unless you want to.

  • You can take a break whenever you want.
