Tabletop RPGs

at Valley Rollers

Not every roleplaying game is Dungeons & Dragons.

Our guest RPG table is where we run one-off games in different systems, settings, and styles. Some are eerie. Some are chaotic. Some are tense, mysterious, or a bit ridiculous. It changes each event.

If you are curious about tabletop roleplaying games but fancy something a little different, this is the table to watch.

What is a tabletop roleplaying game?

A tabletop roleplaying game is a shared story you play through together.

One person runs the world and sets the scene. The other players each take on a character in that story and decide what they do. You might investigate something strange, survive something nasty, talk your way out of trouble, or make things much worse for everyone.

You say what you want to do. The person running the game tells you what happens next. Dice step in when things could go either way.

That is the basic shape of it.

So what makes the guest table different?

Our D&D table runs every event. The guest RPG table changes each time.

That means the setting, tone, and rules can all be different depending on the game. One month you might be solving a strange disappearance on the moors. The next you might be trapped on a failing spaceship, or trying to keep it together while everything goes sideways.

The fun of the guest table is that it lets us try new worlds, new stories, and new kinds of play.

Do I need to know the game already?

Nope.

You do not need to know the rules before you arrive, and you do not need to have played that system before. We will explain what you need as we go.

Some guest games are very beginner-friendly. Some are a little stranger. Either way, we will always try to make it clear what sort of game it is before the night, so you know what you are signing up for.

What is the vibe like?

The guest table is still Valley Rollers.

That means it is welcoming, low-pressure, and not about showing off how much you know. Some games are darker than others. Some are funnier. Some are more rules-light, some a bit crunchier. But the aim is still the same: help people settle in, have a good night, and enjoy the story.

Just a reminder:

  • You do not need to do voices, unless you want to.

  • You do not need to act, unless you want to.

  • You do not need to know what half the words mean before you sit down.

  • You can take a break whenever you need.

How the night works

This is not a drop-in table.

We run a set adventure with limited spaces, so you will need to book a seat in advance.

On the night, we will do a quick intro, get everyone settled, and then crack on with the game. We usually play for a couple of hours, take a break, then carry on until about 10pm.

If you want food during the break, T'Cure has excellent vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat options.

What do I bring?

Just bring yourself.

We have the dice, character sheets, and pencils. We also have ready-made characters, so there is no homework to do beforehand.

No need to read the rulebook. No need to watch hours of videos. We will explain things as they come up and keep it moving.
